So this past week marked a moment I will never forget, my first trip to Fenway. Well I may not be a Sox fan, it was well worth it, and something that I will never forget.
I ended up staying in a hostel located on the BU campus and I was over looking Kenmore Square. In fact I could see the park from my room. I do not have a camera, so I couldn't take any pictures. Would I did do, was use my camera on my MacBook to take the following 2 pictures. The first is a day time pic on friday afternoon. The second was friday night, just before the game was to begin. When I realized this, I automatically started to think about the next summer trip to Beantown, and staying in a room on a higher floor, maybe than I could get a better view.

Well enough about the room, lets get to what really matters, game time.
I got up early on Wednesday, got some food, and than walked over to see what the park was like from the outside. As I started getting closer I realized that there was a line already forming for gameday tickets. At this point I had forgot that is was a day game, so I got in line as quickly as I could after my stupdity passed. The line was great fun too. Standing around me was a father and son who had a bag full of balls that they were gonna get signed. There was a guy that worked for United Airlines, and flew in from Phoenix that morning just to see the game. He was also leaving that night, and does this on the regular to ballparks all over America. He has been to every park except for the new one in Washington. There was also a guy from Japan who had come to see the entire series, saw his man Dice-K (I don't fell like spelling his name at this time) pitch the night before, and also showed the father and son how to spell Dice-K in Japanesse writing. Needless to say I had a great time talking to the random people you meet in the line. One of them told us to just get a standing room ticket, and take a seat after about the 4th if no one had been sitting in it by than. I liked this idea, and so did my wallet as 20 bucks meant that I had more money for beer.
I got my ticket after the 2 hour weight, and made my way inside. I was pretty pumped for this, Christmas was coming in July for me. Got in, walked around, and took it all in. Was pretty pumped to be at a game. To see big league players was gonna be great. So I grabbed some food, sat down and watched batting practice. As game time approached I got up and went to the first base side to scout out the situation. I got a nice view of things there, and got ready to watch the game. As I stood there, I got to meet a guy and his GF, wife (I didn't really know there situation, didn't ask either) They make a trip every year, as they were both born in Boston, but now live in San Fran. Instead of getting a seat, I ended up standing around with them, and talking with a father and his two kids that were sitting in front of us. One of the kids was about 6, or 7 and knew more about his team than i would ever know. His older brother (I'd say 12, maybe younger)sat there, and started talking about games from earlier in the season. This kid was unreal, he know things that a casual fan would never know. That's what got me, how knowledable these fans were. I wish I had brought S3F posters or something to pass out cause some would make a good addition maybe. So during the game I had some beers with the San Fran folks, and saw a slug fest. I believe it was a 16-5 gmae from the Sox by the time it ended. Saw morneau hit a home run, and got to see Gardinhiire (I know that's wrong) get thrown out of the game. So all in all it was a great time, and one that I will never forget. Sure beats the only other game I saw from the 5th deck of the SkyDome.
