The Nationals will look to break their three-game losing streak when they face the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in Sunday afternoon's series finale. Washington will face St. Louis right-hander Kyle Lohse, and left fielder Felipe Lopez is the only regular in the lineup with a .300 batting average against Lohse during his career. One person who should be familiar with Lohse is shortstop Cristian Guzman. The two were teammates for several years with the Twins. Guzman will face his former teammate for the first time in his career. Guzman, who is Washington's leadoff hitter, is hitting .300 (9-for-30) and is showing that last year, in which he hit .328 in 46 games, wasn't a fluke. "It's good he is making good adjustments on the grass from the turf," hitting coach Lenny Harris said. "He has been playing on that turf for so long. He is using his other game, spread the ball around, keep it off the ground. He is a streaky hitter. Once he hits, he will hit for a while." The Nationals wouldn't mind if Guzman would draw more walks. He has none entering Sunday's game. In the 46 games he played last year, Guzman had a .380 on-base percentage, thanks in part to 15 walks. Pitching matchup WSH: LHP John Lannan (0-0, -.-- ERA) The Nationals placed closer Chad Cordero on the disabled list on Friday night and recalled Lannan. The Nationals needed a fifth starter because they didn't want right-hander Tim Redding to throw on short rest. Lannan was the Nationals' best pitcher during Spring Training, going 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA in five games. He was the Nationals' Minor League pitcher of the year in 2007. STL: RHP Kyle Lohse (0-0, 0.00 ERA) He is making his second start of the season. Against the Rockies on Tuesday, Lohse pitched five scoreless innings. He will be facing the Nationals/Expos for the seventh time in his career. He is 0-1 with a 7.54 ERA against them.
