Turned Down Estrada For This??

The Nationals are looking at adding Damian Miller to help fill the void left by the Brian Schneider trade. It was thought Miller might retire after last season, but it looks like he'll continue his career at age 38. He appears to be somewhat interested in joining the Nationals. "It depends on the situation -- what's good for me and my family, he said. "They have a new stadium next year. That will certainly help. They have an up-and-coming team and they have a bunch of good guys. Let's see what happens." If the Nats content themselves with Miller, it could be with the idea of having him start 70-80 games alongside Jesus Flores. If they want a starter, they should try to do better.

The Nats turned down Estrada as a throw-in in the Schneider/Milledge deal and are now going after Miller? What in the hell has happened to Estrada? They are treating as though he has the plague.

Damian Miller used to be a very good catcher, but the years have taken their toll on his body. He could be a decent guy to throw out there 3 or 4 days a week, but he cannot take the punishment of a full season.
This move is a head-scratcher.
