MLB.com: Game Preview: Jays-Sox

The Blue Jays came close to a thrilling victory on Friday night, but their comeback chances ended 90 feet short. The Red Sox got out of a bases-loaded jam to earn a 6-5 win in Toronto's home opener, and both teams head back to the Rogers Centre for a Saturday matinee.

Both teams send their respective Opening Day starters back to the hill, setting up a duel between two pitchers with impressive track records in Toronto. Boston's David Wells, drafted by the Blue Jays back in 1982, is 36-28 with a 4.25 ERA in Toronto. The Jays will start Roy Halladay, who's 39-18 with a 3.49 lifetime ERA at home.

Toronto hasn't won this season series since 2000, racking up a 27-49 record in the intervening years. The same trend holds at home: In the last four years, the Jays are just 14-24 against the Sox at home.
