The Jays are kicking the tires on Erik Bedard, and they could include A.J. Burnett in a package for the Orioles' ace. Bedard is Canadian, and Burnett, who could opt out of his contract next winter, has family ties to the Baltimore area -- something that is important to O's owner Peter Angelos.
The Blue Jays and Giants have floated the idea of an Alex Rios trade for Tim Lincecum or Matt Cain. Another name that's come up in discussions is third baseman Troy Glaus. But there are some health issues surrounding Glaus, who had surgery in September to repair a nerve in his left foot. If the Jays move Glaus, they would have to consider adding offense.

• The Blue Jays continue to talk with the Orioles about left-hander Erik Bedard. Toronto probably has the young pitching to anchor a deal.
Looks like we were wrong Halladay is God. Looks like they are right in the thick of things now.

Giants wouldn't won't Glaus because he is injury prone and now has a steroid cloud over him. The Giants are trying to get away from that. Lincecum is way too valuable to give up for Rios and I love Rios.

2008 Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

I like the kicking the tires bit because that's all I expect from JP

don't see why Burnett would have that value to get Bedard though, that would be a bit too good to be true.

as for the giants, I would rather keep Rios than trade him, Lincecum or Cain would be awesome to have, but Rios is really needed for the offense, take Glaus and his injuries.

The Jays would rather have Rios and the Giants would rather have Lincecum, so what's the point of making this deal.
