Brushing back a batter? Okay. But this? You have to be kidding.

You've heard of Kill the Ump, Lynch the Ump, and Strangle the Ump, right? Well, get ready for the latest thing—Bean the Ump.

What did the catcher say?

After the game, Hill explained that he'd been expecting a curveball, instead got a fastball and just didn't catch it.

The catcher is a terrible liar. If he would have been expecting a curve he would have turned his glove upside down to scoop/block it. At least that's what his body showed anyway.

Still funny though.

He clearly ducked, turned his head down, and made no effort to catch that pitch. What a douche. The coach at the college he planned on attending and walking onto the team called him after seeing this and told him that he would never accept a player like him.

Good for that college not letting the catcher go there anymore and taking a stand. Classless, classless, classless move here.

I can't. He put his head DOWN to look at the ground. and his glove was facing the wrong direction.

When the Rockies played the Dodgers in LA, there was a same type of scenario. Penny through a fastball, the catcher expecting a curve. The catcher positioned himself to take the curve, but when he realized it was a fastball, he stuck his glove out at the last second. The ump still took it right in the jaw, knocking him out cold. Dodger's catcher expected a curve, and made a valid attempt at catching the pitch...this kid didn't.

This kid put his head down. He looked away from the ball. This is a disgrace

This umpire should press charges on the two players, coach, school, the school district, the parents. I cant believe what sports, in fact, life itself is becoming. No morals anymore!!! Everyone needs to get back to church and refocus what is really important in life.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to intentionally hit an umpire?

I agree with saber, It must be vry hard to pin point the umps head, if this was planned and/or done intentionally, it would be VERY hard to execut it to perfection
