This is going to be hockey perfection and truly unseat NHL 94 as the gold standard. Last year was great, but based on the demo this year, the still stick finally has that extra level of fluidity that just makes it feel so natural and true to the game (the gimmickness of it is gone.) But when you consider the new online mode and how deep that is, along with the Be A Pro Mode, which seems poised to be much better than how MLB The Show has done it (largely due to the differences between the sports and the feeling you get in hockey to create your own opportunities).... simply put, it will be the balls.

What I didn't like about NHL 05 is that it was way too easy to get pushed around.

EA Sports re-did the whole NHL series starting with NHL 07, they improved on it in 08 and looks even better in 09, of course this only with the 360 and PS3 versions

Pretty pumped about this, one of the games I would like to get when I get a PS3, which of course is in my wildest dreams, but I am getting a pay raise starting with the next pay cheque.

too many good games come out around the same time. i still havent even picked up madden, and nba 2k9 comes out next month... in addition to this obviously. nba i need for an online league, ncaa 09 im in an online dynasty and nhl ive been in a few leagues before as well. its really hard for me to play these games offline, but i need way too many games to play online.

Agreed. As sweet as it was to bring home, it would have been great to have Nash on it. Even though I am a Pens fan, I have a fondness for the Jackets due to obvious proximity and being in on the first season effort (ie, touring the in development Nationwide Arena, playing the NHL Breakout tourney up there when Jackets had big hype, etc.)

Anywho, NHL 09 is amazing. It is the jam to my toast, a better TV dad than Alan Thicke and can power the world's electricity needs with a song and a smile... in other words, it's awesome.

NHL 09 is the best sports gaming experience I have ever had, hands down.
