Mets fans I've had some ups and downs with down here...but I'll tell you a story; I was having this discussion with two girls, and one said she was a Yankee fan but didn't care enough, and was fine with having a Red Sox boyfriend. The girl I was trying to get with was like "No, you can never gie up your team." I was of course very happy, and was like "Yeah, don't let the Red Sox end up becoming your team" and the girl I was trying to get with was like "Yeah, like I could never see myself getting with a Yankees fan" and immediately, knowing the door was shut, I asked he what team she was a fan of...lo and behold the ****ing Mets. I started saying that a Mets fan can't hate the Yankees anyway, because since we're the only baseball team that wins in NY, it makes it that much sweeter when they actually make the playoffs. She was not happy.

I'm not sure I agree. You don't have to like everything the same. Then things are boring.

If she likes watching chick flicks, and I like watching baseball, it means we can each treat the other one night by showing interest in what the other one cares about. Otherwise, things gets static.

I love the Yankees. I don't want to compromise that, and people who are fans of the Mets or Red Sox should hate the Yankees.

Then again, if they don't it means that they're more likely to accept my love for baseball. So I guess there a plusses to both. Ideally though, she wouldn't be a Red Sox or Mets fan.

I've tried...it rarely works...maybe it's because I get frustrated when people think that they are true fans with really superficial knowledge.

I really, really, LOVE baseball.

I don't think you understand. It's been my concern since I was 3. I had the whole lineup, stats, trivia, and other assorted knowledge memorized. My primary dedication, honestly, is to baseball. The only reason I don't want to do it as a job (anything involving it) is because I'm worried I won't love it as much.

LOL @ Cricket, I remember when I went back to Indian in 00, I tried playing Cricket, man oh man I sucked, I didn't know the rules, I swung like a baseball bat, so I basically quit. I do follow it occasionally.
