Just with a cursory look at Volquez's minor league stats, while he may not be ready, he has some nice potential. 10k per 9 in A Ball with Bakersfield, and while that dipped by three strikeouts and the walk rate doubled when he went to double A, he kept his hit rate steady. I don't think he's ready and he's not a huge prospect, but the Rangers sure could use some nice arms.

Speaking of which, it's now or never for Eraser. And really, if the Rangers don't want him, send him to Boston. Good WHIP, solid ERA, three years in the majors. He hasn't thrown many innings, but he could be a nice set-up man for Francisco Cordero.

the good news is that they'll both get shots at some point this year when someone melts in the that heat like always.

The Rangers seem to be quite high on Volquez but he definately needs more time in A-ball. I would think Otsuka would probably be the setup man for Cordero but with the Rangers pen the way it is, they definately need Erasor in there. He has done good in the past and can still be solid when he's healthy.
