The Rangers have no problem with Roger Clemens not planning to be ready by Opening Day if he does pitch in the major leagues this season. They understand his thinking that starting the season late might keep him fresher throughout the year.

The Rangers are still considering signing DH Erubiel Durazo and outfielder Danny Bautista to minor league contracts, though Bautista appears an unlikely addition now.
I just can't see Clemens signing with the Rangers...Durazo, if healthy, wouldn't be a bad risk...especially with a minor league contract.

Durazo would be no big deal if it's an MLC but I with Dellucci/Nevin/Botts figuring into the DH equation, that leaves very little for Durazo.
