The Dallas News reports that Ian Kinsler (groint) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Joaquin Arias is reportedly with the team, and Kinsler got an MRI on Monday, neither of which are very good signs. There are reports that he could miss the rest of the season.

The Rangers weren't really in contention anyway, so it doesn't matter. Better to make sure the young star is healthy for next year.

He just signed a new contract before the season so it might be the smart play to just shut him down for the season. No use risking further injury.

Agreed. The guy is your young stud, don't risk him making it worse over a year that means nothing to the franchise.

Ian Kinsler (sports hernia) will wait two weeks before undergoing surgery in hopes that he can return this season.
After meeting with a specialist, Kinsler was told he has the mildest form of a sports hernia - just inflammation of the abdominal wall, not a strain or tear. Even if he avoids the knife, he'd probably only return for the last week or two of the season

Why is he gonna try to come back? Like we've said, the year is meaningless for the Rangers, and he's only risking making this worse...
