Anyone remember Broussard, the guy who had 3 homers and 8 RBI through the first 6 games of the season? Well, here he is 20 games later and he still has 3 homeruns and 8 RBI on the season. As a result of that, and his .159 batting average, Broussard has been designated for assignment.

Thirdbaseman Travis Metcalf is coming off the DL and will take Broussard's roster spot. Metcalf has been on the DL since late March and hasn't played in even a minor league game yet this season.

Does this mean that Salty will be at 1B more often or will Chris Shelton continue to get the AB's at 1B?

According to the Rangers site, Salty is still not in the mix. From the article I read, it looks like it's going to be a platoon of Frank Catalanotto and Chris Shelton at 1B.
