First month stats: .330, 6 home runs, 32 RBI, 16 runs, .379 OBP, .561 SLG. His 32 RBI led the majors for April.

Has there been a trade in recent memory that looks like it will work out as well as Hamilton for Edinson Volquez? Granted, we're just a month in, but both guys are playing extremely well. There's no doubt that Hamilton has the tools necessary to be a franchise player, it's just a matter of if he can stay healthy at this point. You could criticize the Rangers for dealing away young pitchers but not for this guy they got in return.

Not a bad choice. This is one of the few trades that works out extremely well for BOTH teams. Josh Hamilton, what a story.

You just knew he was going to do well going from Cincy to Texas with both being hitter's parks. I doubted his durability which remains to be seen but he is a great story and wish ESPN would take better looks at stories and players like this. A fair and balanced trade seems to be a rarity but this is one of them. Congrats to Josh!!

It doesn't help that ESPN doesn't care about Texas or Cincinnati. Probably not far enough east or west.

This has definately been a great trade for Texas. I didn't like it when it happened because I thought it would turn out like the deals that brough Wilkerson, Eaton, and McCarthy to Texas. .330 BA and 32 RBI in one month is incredible though. I didn't expect that kind of run production out of any Ranger. We'll see if the Rangers continue to be happy with Hamilton as the season progresses though.

Hey, at least you're not still putting up with Wilkerson.

Yeah, but Texas gave up Soriano for that guy.

I guess that Galarraga guy is supposed to have good potential though. Oh wait, he's gone now too.

Yep, I'm not too happy with Daniels earlier trades.

Yep. He wasn't MLB ready yet and McCarthy was.

The Ranger's rotation would be in great shape if they hadn't dealt Chris Young for nothing, Danks for what is turning out to be nothing, and Volquez.
