Laird's hitting has actually sucked in every game he's played this season except for yesterday's monster 2 HR, 6 RBI game, which has made his season numbers look good. But with him catching behind the plate, the Rangers pitchers have all pitched well, except for one average outing from Jason Jennings. Otherwise, he's doing a great job handling the staff. I have to agree with this. Take away last night's game and Laird has 1 hit this season, no homers, no runs, and no RBI. Gotta give him some credit though, he hasn't struck out once in 16 AB's so far this year. It wouldn't be all that hard for Laird to have a standout offensive season, considering in his only full season thus far he hit .224. He's a great guy to have for defensive purposes though. No errors so far and he's thrown out 3 out of 3 would-be base stealers.
