Nolan Ryan has agreed to become the Rangers team president, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press.
Ryan had been acting as special assistant to the general manager in Houston. The Rangers wanted a name in the role of president after Jeff Cogen left in November. As little front-office involvement as he's had in the past, Ryan probably shouldn't be in a position to make key decision.
Awesome! Nolan is just one of those guys who you can't possibly hate. This guy was one of the most intimidating guys on the mound but that never carried over off the field. I bet he would still be a #5 starter today for the Rangers.

He will certainly bring some credibility to the team that has been lacking recently. Whether or not he will make any decisions, his presence will help.

It'll be great to see The Express back in north Texas, even if it isnt wearning a uniform. I bet he could still be the Rangers ace with the way pitching tends for go for them, or at lest #2 or #3.

In terms of front-office involvement, you have to start somewhere. Something else to watch for this year.
