Game 1 Recap
The Rangers kicked off round 2 against the Astros in explosive fashion scoring 11 runs on 14 hits including 3 homeruns. It was a tight game with the Astros leading 3-2 in the 5th before Texas busted out for 8 runs in the inning taking a 10-3 lead. They would go on to win 11-3.

Kevin Millwood started for Texas throwing 6 innings and giving up 3 runs on 9 hits for the win improving to 4-6 on the season, and lowering his ERA to 7.31.

There were a lot of offensive highlights including Sammy Sosa's 601st career homerun. Marlon Byrd and Brad Wilkerson each contributed homeruns as well. Six different Rangers had multiple hit games, Ramon Vazquez scored 3 runs, and Sammy drove in 4.

Game 2 Recap
The Rangers secured their hold on the silver boot in last night's 7-2 win over Houston. It marked their 4th win in 5 games against the Astros this year meaning the worst they can do in the season series is finish 4-2.

It was another tight one early one, but like game 1, was decided by a big inning. The Rangers lead 3-2 going into the 8th inning when the offense broke out for 4 runs in the inning, including Gerald Laird's 5th homerun of the year.

Jamey Wright made the start for Texas and pitched a surprisingly good game. Despite walking 6 batters in 5.2 innings, he still gave up just 2 runs on 3 hits to notch his first win as a Ranger.

The offensive attack was highlighted by the Gerald Laird homerun, a 3 for 3 performance from Kenny Lofton, and a 4 RBI game from Michael Young.

This win gives the Rangers a 4 game winning streak, and they have now won 7 of their last 9 games.
