RHP Thomas Diamond



May 22nd:

Game Wrap: Thomas Diamond pitched six scoreless innings as Frisco edged visiting Arkansas, 2-1, on Monday.

Diamond (3-1) allowed three hits, struck out six and worked around four walks. The 6-foot-3 right-hander permitted just two runners to reach second base as the RoughRiders (21-22) ended a two-game skid.


Adam Morrison opened the scoring with an RBI single in the sixth inning and Travis Metcalf added a run-scoring triple later in the frame for Frisco, which bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Midland on Sunday.

Frisco reliever Wes Littleton gave up a solo homer to Matt Pali in the seventh, but blanked Arkansas the rest of the way to earn his third save.

Game Wrap:
John Danks struck out a career-high 12 batters in visiting Frisco's 5-3 victory over San Antonio on Monday.

Danks (3-4) fanned at least two batters in every frame but the fifth inning. He went six, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks.

Adam Morrissey hit solo shots in the fifth and seventh to give the RoughRiders (18-18) a 5-3 lead. He is hitting .400 in four games since being sent down from Triple-A Oklahoma. His last multi-homer game came on July 27, 2003, with Midland.

The Frisco bullpen fired three hitless frames against the Missions (13-21) to finish the game. Wes Littleton hit two batters and struck out three in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Jesse Carlson recorded the last four outs for his second save.

Anthony Webster led the RoughRiders with three hits.

San Antonio starter Brandon Moorhead (1-3) was charged with four runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

The Missions' Jon Nelson crushed a two-run homer in the second to give the Missions a 2-1 lead.

Frisco rallied to 3-2 on Jake Blalock's two-run double in the fourth.

Jesus Guzman slugged a solo homer in the bottom of the frame to tie the score.

May 27th:

Game Wrap: Enrique Cruz's first home run of the season helped guide visiting Frisco over Springfield, 7-3, on Saturday.

With two runners on base in the third inning, Cruz deposited a pitch from starter Stuart Pomeranz beyond the center-field wall to give the RoughRiders (24-24) a 3-2 lead.

Frisco added two more in the frame on an RBI double by Anthony Webster and a run-scoring single by Jake Blalock.

Cruz went 2-for-5 and has hit safely in his last three games. Kevin Mahar added two hits, a walk and two runs scored from the ninth spot.

Thomas Diamond (4-1) won his fourth straight decision, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Michael Bumstead struck out three in three scoreless innings to earn his first save.

The Cardinals (29-18) took the lead in the second on back-to-back homers by Juan Richardson and Iker Franco.

Pomeranz (6-1) suffered his first loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and a walk in six innings.
