What would you have done differently? Gone the Cincy Reds (IRL) route and signed a bunch of below average old players that werent going to last more than 2 seasons and not have any possibility of improving their value? I kept a full roster of guys in their mid 20s because you never know when a Ramon Dapena is going to creep up and be a late bloomer or be like Ralph Lubin and just somehow some way stick in the majors for a while. The spects werent ready yet as they got to mlb overalls I started calling them up to bad results for most of the guys that were rookies last year anyway.

FYI Only reason Hunt (giving up on learning LF now) and Olson (Still wishing he'd learn 2b) arent in the majors now is i thought I would try one more thing with both giving them a position should I have taken a SS in the draft and try to maximize what I have on the farm.

Sorry for having a 3 year window of the 8th pick, 1st pick, and 2nd pick after a decade of never being earlier than 20th.

I don't disagree with your method, but I must say that I find your usage of obscure names as metaphors to be quite annoying. No offense, you're not the only one who does that.

Hence why I mentioned them. Lubin was my starting 2nd baseman at the start of the rise of the twins, just always could pencil him in at like .280 if not more inspite of 5 or 6 contact. Played a great defensive 2nd base, winning a couple GGs. Was a guy that I just sort of threw into the role in 2011ish i think just to see if he was worth keeping.

Ramon Dapena was a 6th round pick that got boosted to like 9 8 9 got hurt in 2013 lost a crap ton of talent and gained most of it back the next couple years. Was 28 yrs old when he became a full time starter for me.

I guess what there saying Slyder is this: Don't tank it anymore. Your number 2 pick is a down right stud! What is he like 10-10-10-10-9 talent. Don't get me wrong here, as I was a fellow tanker in this league. More or less giving you a hard time....

It's simple, when you and dam win for a couple years, as opposed to a team that regularly wins (I dunno, let's say Anaheim for example), it just doesn't mean as much. Any idiot can let their team rot and pile up the top ten draft picks.

BTW most of the spects I got for trades blowing up a team who was in 4th place and no money or getting lucky (Masselli 21st overall) not stockpiling top picks. Plus its not like I had to trade franchises to get over the hump . Hows stockpiling top picks worked for other teams? Not a guarentee by any stretch.

I guess calling up Daniel Wade after 2 months, Pena with a 6 vs LHP contact, having Hickmon in the majors right now, Hunt in the majors inspite of his struggles at AAA is letting guys rot to acquire more picks. Using Nutt, Richardson, etc right now before everyone else is "Ready" is letting guys rot.
