Who's the NBA MVP? -
03-27-2008, 01:17 AM
No doubt in my mind it's Paul. Are Kobe and LeBron the 2 most talented players in the league?...probably. Are they right there in the voting?...Yes. But nobody's done what Chris Paul's doing this season. Either of the other 3 guys win it almost every year, but Paul has been too good to be true this year.

I don't know how you can say no to Kobe...and I hate the guy. He's led the team after Bynum went down. You can make a case for a couple other players, but at this point, I have to go to Kobe.

I'm goin with LeBron. He's outscoring and outrebounding both Paul and Kobe, not to mention he IS the Cleveland Cavaliers. He defines MVP. He is the reason people buy tickets. He is the only reason they win. They would be a scrappy, patchwork team without him. Having Gasol makes the Lakers a better team, but takes away from Kobe's argument for MVP. Stickin with the man.

No shit he's outrebounding them, he's a 6'8" behemoth while Kobe and Paul are guards, and have guys like Gasol, Odom, Chandler, and West on their teams. And why do you think people buy tickets to Hornets games?...not because of Peja Stojakovic! And LeBron is my favorite player in the league, but I think it's Paul.

But you made my point. They DO have guys like Gasol, Odom, Chandler, and West on their teams. They work together as a team to win games. LeBron pretty much does it by himself. That's why he's MVP. Granted he did finally get SOME help at the deadline. But it's not nearly what the other guys got.

New Orleans doesn't have much aside from Paul though.
West and Chandler are good, but much better with CP3 on their side.

Re: Who's the NBA MVP? -

Well, LeBron did have Ilgauskas and Daniel Gibson(and Drew Gooden for most of the year), though I see your point. The only reason I wouldn't say LeBron is going to win it, is because I see the way that the Hornets and Lakers are performing this year, and because Paul and Kobe have had just as big an impact on teams that have been more successful in a tougher conference, I lean towards them. But I can definitely understand a LeBron argument.

Yeah, Chris Paul and a bunch of bad/average/good guys are in first place in the most competitive division in NBA history.

I'm not a Kobe fan, but how does the best player in the league over the last how many years? Not have an MVP.
