Because I thought I was when I read this but I haven't got high all day!

The Mariners are set to sign Kenji Johjima to a three-year extension, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports.

Well, then they might as well call up Jeff Clement and make him their DH right now. He won't have a future at catcher in the organization with Johjima locked up through 2011. This could prove to be the biggest blunder yet from Bill Bavasi, which is really saying something. Johjima has been just terrible at the plate, and has looked at least as bad as the numbers (.200/.268/.246) suggest. Signing him through his age-35 season has the potential for disaster.
They have Clement just waiting there to take over and Kenji is off to a horrid start! They traded a lot to get Bedard which was risky enough and now this? Sleep on this one and forget it ever happened.

There is no way in hell you trade Clement to anyone right now. He needs to be our f'n DH for Vidro if anything. Hes hitting .375, 5 HR and 16 RBIs in Tacoma going into yesterday. Bavasi, this is your job on the line. Act like it.

If the M's trade Clement they will really really regret it. They have already lost Adam Jones and now they are thinking about there other top prospect. Don't make sense, especially for a Dunn or Griffey.
