Will Lincecum Win the Cy Young Award?

I make this post before Lincecum's start tonight so numbers are due to change. I will update them after tonight's win

So far, Lincecum has had an amazing year for such an awful team. Here is where he stands amongst the leaders in pitching categories:

- 1st in ERA (2.60)
- 1st in road ERA (1.88)
- T-6th in Wins (13)
- 1st in Strikeouts (192)
- 7th in IP (169.2)
- 11th in WHIP (1.20)
- 1st in K/9 (10.18)
- 2nd in Winning % (.813)
- 4th in BAA (.227)

Lincecum has dominated all year and has only given up four or more runs four times in 24 starts. The Giants are an amazing 16-8 in games Timmy starts!! The man is 12-3 and should have more wins than that. Lincecum would definitely have my vote! What do you think?

And of course he gets hit in the back of the leg by a Brad Ausmus line drive and lasts only 4 1/3 innings.

Brandon Webb has it pretty much in the bag!!! Especially since he'll win 23 games?

Unless of course he completely collapses...

I wouldn't go that far. The Freak has been just as good and IMO better that Webb.

I believe he also has a record of 8-1 or something like that when pitching after a Giants loss.

Lincecum is on his way to his 13th win today if the bullpen can hold it. He struck out ten today!! I will update numbers after the game ends.

Well the bullpen held the lead, and Lincecum got win #13. 10 K's, three hits, one run (four BBs...) in 7 2/3 innings. His only serious competition for the Cy Young right now is Webb. I think it'll be a battle down to the bitter end.

Webb has more wins but Lincecum has better #'s. It will be fun to watch but I have a feeling Lincecum will get screwed.

Yeah the voters will prolly pull the "who helped his team more" thing. Idk, I think Lincecum is miore deserving than Webb. But it can really go either way.
