According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants will pay "roughly half" of the $3 million remaining on Ray Durham's contract as part of Sunday's trade to the Brewers.
That explains how San Francisco was able to get two players for Durham, although both prospects are marginal. Durham waived his no-trade clause in order to get the deal done and will receive a $20,000 trade bonus from the Brewers as part of his contract. It remains to be seen how much playing time he'll get in Milwaukee, but at the very least he figures to replace Rickie Weeks at second base against tough right-handers.

Can't believe Sabean paid half of the $3 mil Durham was owed! The Giants got nothing good to speak of and the Brewers got someone who now leads the team in BA and OBP!! Just terrible!!
