This is a discussion on Giants vs Mets 6/2-6/4 within the San Francisco Giants forum at Strike 3 Forums; 2-1 Mets and it looks like they could open the flood gates here....
Interesting point brought up by Ron Darling on the Mets broadcast. When Zito plants, he seems to jam his front leg into the ground, preventing him from really getting a strong pushoff. That forces him a) to lose a bit of velocity and b) to force the ball up in the zone.
Wow. Talk about a weird roller coaster type of a series. The Mets just notched their highest scoring inning of the year at 8 (and counting). Who knows what will happen tomorrow?
Pedro escapes a first and third none out situation with back to back strikeouts and then a groundout to short. I'm THOROUGHLY impressed with Pedro. He only had 3 K's tonight, but in just his first game back, he threw 109 pitches, went 6 innings, and gave up 3 runs. Normally, not great numbers, but he actually didn't have his usual control. He looked a bit "rusty" as Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez said. It looks like if he can stay healthy, he can be a big big big part of this team...
