The Giants were just swept by the Chicago White Sox and have lost five in a row. The offense isn't hitting with RISP and Bruce Bochy scheduled a team meeting. I can't wait to hear what that was like. Bochy has got to mix this lineup up to generate more offense. The late inning guys have got to do a lot better and of course I'm speaking of Walker and Wilson. The Rockies are ahead of the Giants by just a half game and took over in third place of the West. A battle of the bottom feeders is what we are looking at.
Game One- Pat Misch (0-0, 5.32 ERA) vs Jorge De La Rosa (1-2, 9.42 ERA). Misch fared well in his last start going six innings, striking out six while walking none and giving up just three runs. Misch appeared twice against Colorado last season, posting no record and a 2.08 ERA. De La Rosa didn't last long in his last start going just four and two thirds innings and giving up four earned runs.
Game Two- Tim Lincecum (5-1, 1.92 ERA) vs Aaron Cook (6-2, 2.82 ERA). Lincecum pitched well enough in his last start to win but the bullpen failed him. He went six innings, gave up three runs and struck out ten. Lincecum leads the majors in strikeouts. Cook out-dueled Lincecum early this year in a 3-2 win and is Lincecum's only loss of the year. This is the game of the series.
Game Three- Jonathan Sanchez (2-3, 4.59 ERA) vs Ubaldo Jimenez (1-4, 5.29 ERA). Sanchez had his last start spoiled by poor offensive support. Sanchez went six and two thirds and struck out six while giving up just two runs. He has already faced the Rockies this year going five and two thirds and giving up just two runs. He did not figure in the decision. Jimenez fared about the same as Sanchez did in his only start against the Giants this season.
The Giants could sweep and turn things around based on pitching matchups but until Bochy make changes, expect more of the same.
This would be an interesting lineup to see if things can get going. Molina dropping down provides more speed at the top of the lineup. Durham has been hot and Castillo can add pop at the bottom of the lineup. Rowand is hitting too well to be stuck in the five spot. The Giants are 4-12 this month and no sign of turning things around so far. Either the Giants don't score enough runs or they score a lot and the bullpen blows it.

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.
Bochy didn't change much in the lineup but did make some changes. Durham is hitting second while Vizquel was dropped to eighth. Aurilia is sixth and Castillo is seventh. Everything else is the same Maybe this slight change will work.
