Yah I can't say that I miss Hacksaw too much........I really do enjoy 1090am and the guys they have in the line up........IMO it's 690 with the fat trimmed........I can tell you that I feel much better not having to endure Rome

Chris Ello is working at 1090am

Born in Santa Monica this California native has always lived life in the batter's box. A graduate of Beverly Hills High School he made his way down to San Diego State University to play baseball. This lefty pitcher and aspiring journalist had the opportunity to play and be teammates with baseball great, Tony Gywnn. After his graduation in 1985, Chris moved back to LA to pursue a career as a sports columnist with the Los Angeles Times and then the Pasadena All-Star.

Back to San Diego, from 1994 to 2002 Chris hosted a show on XTRA Sports 690 called, 'The World of Sports according to Chris'. During his time at XTRA, Chris began to do play-by-play announcing with teams like, SDSU Basketball (1998), San Diego Sockers (1994-95), San Diego Wildcards (1996), and currently he is the play by play announcer for the San Diego Gulls and has been since 1996.

Chris joined the Mighty 1090 in August of 2004 and looks forward to continuing a tradition in San Diego sports.

1090am reported yesterday that Manny Rameriz cleared waivers and the Padres are taking a look at him........... I have zero proof of this, but how interesting would that be......true Rt. handed masher enters Petco, along with a monster contract......hmmmm

and No I wont shut up about Rome....he's a blight on what was a very promising new radio station.......and imagine this.....they talk sports on this station right now......with the addition of Rome.....that will be cut way down........back to the clones ohh yeah
