And here I am. Was he the sole reason the Pads didn't get in? No, but he had a huge hand in it like I originally said. When the Pads were losing their grasp on the WC, what did Milton do? He exploded and so did his knee. He put himself first over the team and helped cost the Pads the playoffs. No, Hairston did not do a better job than Milton. Milton was your MVP remember?? When you lose that, it takes a toll on the team especially when the ship was already starting to sink. There was no use signing this selfish player who was coming off knee surgery. Was Edmonds the answer? Nope and that's where Towers ****ed up.

I don't know what games you were watching, but Scott Hairston did a perfectly fine job in left field after Milton was gone.

I'm not saying his actions were ok, because they weren't. But, as it turned out, his actions didn't hurt the team because Scott Hairston got hot for the final month and a half after he took Milton's spot in the line up.

In fact, it's Scott Hairston that would have gotten the Padres into the playoffs in game 163 had Trevor not subsequently blown it.

And please tell me you didn't take the MVP talk seriously.

Milton was not the Padres MVP last year, Khalil Greene was.

I'm not denying this part, but it's also easy to say that after the fact.

Towers did **** up in completing the multitudes of plans before he had to settle on the Edmonds gamble.

From reports and articles I read I'm assuming this was the order of plans and why they failed. But, of course, I could be wrong since I'm not in Towers' office while he's operating.

Plan A: Resign Mike Cameron. That failed

Plan B: Fukudome. The Cubs offered a hell of a lot more money

Plan C: Milton. They probably didn't think he was worth more than the 5 mil the Rangers offered because of his injury problems.

Plan D: Coco Crisp. The Rangers wanted too much in return.

Plan E: Trade a fringe prospect for Edmonds and hope he recovers from his injury.

Its easy to say that after the fact and its just as easy to say that when he signed, which I did. Yes I did take the MVP talk seriously because you guys believed it and even Ken Rosenthal wrote an article about it. I refuse to start this Bradley talk again because I was right about him not helping. We have gone over this bullshit once and will not do it again.Losing a guy like Bradley hurt their chances of stopping the bleeding and reaching the playoffs.

If Milton Bradley was still in the line up for the month and a half or whatever it was that he missed Scott Hairston would not have been.

With the way Hairston performed last year there wouldn't have been any difference.

The joke is on all of you, not me. I took pages and pages of insults and I was right the whole time! You guys jumped the gun. I was also right about Edmonds No need getting back into this since it is over and the Padres were smart not to re-sign Bradley.
