Too bad for you he's a Rockies fan and his team is most likely going to the World Series while yours is going home tonight.

Why is it the worst you've ever seen?
It's the NL's 2 best teams.

Don't hate just because the Dodgers quit with 10 games to go. Look at the Brewers, for example. They had been eliminated from playoff contention but, I think, they are the real reason the Padres missed the playoffs. Had the Brewers quit like the Dodgers, the Padres would have been the ones facing Philadelphia.
That said, I still think Colorado was the better of the 2 teams between them and the Padres. They put it together at the right time and I hope they win the World Series.

Part of me wants the Rockies to go all the way (now that the Angels are out of it)
The other part of me doesn't want the Padres to be the only NL West team without a ring.
(Even though they'd still be in the same company as the San Francisco Giants)

I think we better get used to that idea HWood. I think it's going to be another few years before the Padres get close, but that's just my opinion.

I think the Rockies will win it, or at least come pretty damn close.
I was pretty much speaking on what I'd like to happen.

As far as the Padres' chances next year, I'm waiting to see what they do in the offseason before I form any real opinion.
It could be a horrible year for us, or they could have just as great a chance as they did this year or better.
I'm not holding my breath, just waiting to see what they do.

I'm interested to see who they add to their rotation with Peavy, CY and Maddux. I don't know if Hensley is going to be ready for Opening Day, so I'm not sure you can slot him into the rotation at this point. I know the Padres were interested in Josh Towers before the trading deadline.
I'm excited to see how the GM and Winter meetings go to see what needs they address prior to pitchers and catchers reporting in February.

I'm going to hate that two division rivals are still in the playoffs whether the Dodgers miss the playoffs by a game or they finish 50 games back like the Giants did.
The real reason that the Padres missed the playoffs is because (get this) they got beaten by teams that they should've beaten, like the Brewers. Just like the Dodgers. Not because of your bullshit claim that you pulled out of your Dodger-hating ass that the Brewers have more heart than the Dodgers.
Counting down to: The end of Andruw Jones's contract with the Dodgers:

I believe he acknowledged in that post that, despite everything, the Padres failed to do what they should have done.
They also failed to beat the Rockies just once, and doing so would've had them in the playoffs.
I believe all he pointed out was that, unlike the Brewers, the Dodgers fielded a AA team against teams that were still in contention....which they did.
