Seriously though, I've always enjoyed watching Boomer pitch and there aren't too many personalities bigger than his in the game and I'll miss that. And more importantly than that, the man helped the Reds get to the only postseason appearance I was able to understand on a more indepth level (I was 4 or 5 during the 1990 run.) A fun guy to watch and I hope he sticks in the game at some capacity.

I have always rooted for Wells myself. He has been a quality starter in this league for many years. I would not at all be surprised if we see him in the HOF someday.

Pads FO are making all the right moves - heck they might even be reading internet message boards to get advice on what to do. Everyone says to cut Linebrink because he sucks, and a couple days later he gets dealt. People post about how Wells stinks, and later on, he's also gone. Definitely not messing around.

Trade Khalil Greene, Kevin Kouzmanoff & a AAA arm to the Yankees for ARod....then splurge finally on a megastar please, and put him back at SS where he belongs.....ty

According to Yahoo! Sports-Rumors, the Diamondbacks are expected to take a pass on David Wells now.

I'd ask for Carlos Quentin in return since the DBacks are willing to part with him. He's a young outfielder who could fill in while Hairston is on the DL.

Now that the DBacks are passing on David Wells, and I doubt the Dodgers will go after him, looks like he'll retire after all.
