Time to start this up I know........but I'm hearing talk about WMP again.......I can't tell you how excited I am at the prospect of getting a 25 year old, 40 HR waiting to happen, righty power hitter here.......he's been missing one thing.....consisatant playing time.......IMO.....

You said it my friend, way to go Carnack... Hope it happens. Like I said in the other forum, I like Chris Duncan although it seems clear he isnt going anywhere and everyone thinks his fielding sucks. He is a BIG boy who can rake and will break out soon.

No doubt......and even more when Giles comes back.......maybe they can dump a Sledge or Cruz Jr at the sametime and bring back a high end prospect as well ?? Or is that dreaming

I doubt either would fetch anything worthwhile, especially not Sledge who's back to Earth and below the Mendoza line.

Cruz might fetch a diamond in the rough minor league player that's off everyone's radar if we're lucky. I think I'd rather have Cruz as another good bat from the bench for Black to pass on in favor of Geoff Blum, though.

Atlanta is dangling Salty out there......IMO this guy should be our priority......we have the kinds of things ATL would want in return.......and Salty could be the bat we've been missing, just in a position we didn't think we'd get it from......allowing us to maybe upgrade the OF still making this team near unstoppable.......

Dunn in the OF and Salty behind the dish and this team has a potent offense

Since you hinted at it but didn't come out and say it I'll point out that it's being rumored that the Padres are interested in Adam Dunn.

Someone on the Reds forum said the rumor was that the return would be Hensley and a minor leaguer, but he didn't cite the source of that rumor.

I highly doubt we get Dunn for that cheap. I'm skeptical enough about the Hensley, Meredith, minor leaguer proposals they're tossing around at the UT.

Any rate, he'd probably cost a lot, but I'd do it.

The reason Dunn might come that cheap is that his contract option is voided if he's traded.......so he is nothing more than a rental unless we can come to terms with him before season end ( it's possible )

If we can p/u Dunn for cheap.......then use Headley ( braves need a replacement 3bag) and Linebrink or farm arm to pry Salty away from the Braves....this lineup wont have issues scoring for the rest of the year IMO

If Dunn would, indeed, only cost Hensley and a minor leaguer I wouldn't be too surprised if that minor leaguer was Chase Headley

If we could get Dunn resigned I'd love it.

But if we didn't win it all this year and watched Dunn leave in the offseason, yeah I'd be a bit perturbed about the trade as well.
