He's the greatest post season closer of all time which means he got it done when it mattered the most. Can't say that about Hoffman. Hoffman's numbers in the post season don't come close to Rivera's. If I had to take a closer to win Game 7 of the WS, I'm taking Rivera hands down and so would about 90% of baseball fans. Both are GREAT and both are HOFers without a doubt. And what do they both have in common? They both have had all this success with only two pitches. That's amazing!

There is one difference....Rivera throws his fastball at 93-94 and the cutter at 88-89. Trevor's fastball comes in at 84 and then throws up that nasty 65 MPH changeup.

Speaking of changeup, was anyone else laughing at how far out in front Russell Martin was on the 2 changeups Trevor threw him?

If Rivera faced the 98 Yanks in the WS he too might have failed, and had Hoffy faced the 98 Padres he likely would have shut them down......If Hoffman had as many opportunities in the post season as Rivera.....we'd likely be saying Hoffman's stats were better...since they are better in every catagory when given the same opportunities.....

If Rivera played for any team other than the Yanks......his post season stats wouldn't even be a topic.......Does Rivera post huge save #'s playing the majority of his career on crap teams, that don't sniff the post season ?? Hell no he doesn't

Bring back the Chicken !!

Get'r done KT...........
