Best recent trade in San Diego sports? (Football and baseball) -
04-11-2007, 04:12 AM
There's been a few pretty lopsided trades that have gone in our favor as of late. Which one's the best?

I'm not a football fan so I am probably not the best of voters, but the Chris Young and Adrian Gonzales deal has looked incredible as you guys got two true cornerstones to add to your core.

Well the deal that got us AGon, CY and Sledge was IMO the best deal in Padres history possibly, but the Chargers take the cake on this one. The Eli Manning deal was so severly lopsided, that it's near criminal what the Chargers did to them. Texas chose not to resign Eaton, and are still using Aki as a closer now that Gagne went back on the DL....so they did get some value out of the deal. NYG's got raped, and it went on for two years worth of picks.....

No doubt the Chargers trade was the best raping for SD sports of all time.

The first two are pretty damn lopsided, but as a Giants fan I absolutely have to vote the Eli one.

Definitely the Josh Bard deal. The Padres got a top 5 catcher in baseball and the best middle reliever in the game and only had to give up a part-time catcher who sucks anyways.

If he hits full time like he did part time last year, yes
But that still remains to be seen.
