Okay okay...when you put it that way it doesnt look so promising for my boys....but thats why they play the games right? Who knows, maybe we'll still sweep.
Now time for some lopsided, only-a-dodger-fan-would-say propaganda

:
It's somewhat of a different Dodgers team this year. The rookies are a year older, and we've gotten rid of that shell-of-a-man JD Drew. Drew, our supposed "middle of the order bat" was a rally killer against Peavy and Chris Young. It really only takes one player in a lineup to make a pitchers game-ERA go from 2.00 to 6.00. JD Drew when batting against Chris Young and Jake Peavy hit a combined .105. 2 hits, 18 at bats, 1 RBI. Good riddance. JD Drew's replacement? Luis Gonzalez. Sure, he's getting older but he still punched over 50 doubles last year. And last year vs. Jake Peavy he had a .429 BA and a 1.171 OPS. Career he is a .410 hitter, 4 homers, 12 RBI's, and an outrageous 1.346 OPS. Versus Chris Young, he only has 4 career at-bats but he does have an RBI against him. With one swing of the bat, Gonzo could make Peavy go from pitching a gem, to pitching a disaster.
As for Chris Young, his ERA is pretty good vs. the Dodgers, but he still had a losing record. He was 0-1...you can call it a lack of run support, or you can call it being outpitched by another great Dodger pitching performance.
In regards to Schmidt and Penny's numbers versus the Padres...well, maybe Penny just woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day....and Schmidt? um, lets blame it on a poor Giants scouting report
