Manny Ramirez shoved Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick to the ground in an argument over Ramirez' ticket allotment. Several onlookers moved quickly to separate the two. Ramirez had asked McCormick for 16 tickets for Saturday night's Red Sox-Astros game, an unusually high number for day-of-game. In addition to handling all travel details for clubs, traveling secretaries also take player ticket requests for both home and away games. When McCormick cautioned Ramirez that he might not be able to fulfill his request, Ramirez responded by shouting: "Just do your job!" An argument insued and Ramirez pushed McCormick, sending him to the ground.

First he gets into it with Youkilis and now shoves a weakling to the ground over tickets? The Saux should discipline Manny but won't because the are playing the first place Rays. Someone needs to give Manny a good kick in the ass!!

Because no player ever buys tickets. It's set up so their family and friends get much better seats than would ever be available to non-season ticket holders. Bad move by Manny, but I actually don't necessarily think that this is anything that should be huge news. Especially with what Ponson and Chacon did lately, and I know there were a couple of you who even defended Chacon...

eh, thats dicey. it probably wouldnt bring assault charges unless someone was hurt or the aggrieved party thought it was deserving of such.

A simple bruise could do it for someone to press charges. Being that he works for the Saux means he won't do it and I am sure he will be compensated in some way. We care because professional athletes are supposed to act like athletes. Pedro pushed down Don Zimmer and we cared. Manny pushing down another old, weakling is just as important. Show some ****ing class and respect Manny!!! Oh wait, that's too much to ask.

Umm, the difference there is that Zimmer charged at Pedro. It was self defense, even if it seemed a bit overboard to many. I had no problem with the Pedro incident. This is an incident that Manny handled badly, but I don't think it matters

And there is the problem. A superstar just pushes down an old man who happens to be a colleague and its no big deal. You got mad at a coach for telling other coaches what everyone already knew in Randolph being fired but this pushing someone down over tickets is nothing.
