For right now, I have to go with the Gambler.

2008 Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

I was referring to "in the majors today" when I came up with it...not just this season, but also referring to the past. Just the best in general or overall...never heard of this Halsey fellow until this year

I voted for Mulder because he's been either the league leader or among the league leaders in CG's the last few years. And after his dismal 2nd hlaf last year, he's shut everyone up. Next I would have picked Buehrle because he's been solid and pitches a lot of innings...led the league in innings last year. 3rd I'd pick Santana...he's had 1 good year and this year he hasn't been as good as last year.

Mark Buehrle is the choice. He has about 40 straight starts where he goes 6 innings or more.

Scouts have a said for the last 3 years that Halsey is nothing more than an average back of the rotation starter. I'll go with the scouts, over the stats.

Santana.
