I would go with Gibson and Koufax. These guys changed the game as we know it today and had the filthiest stuff.

2008 Giants > Padres

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

Awsome stats. For the Poll, I went with Sandy, because his Fame was fresh, as I was growing up, and although he was retired, ALL New guys were compared to him,ie Carlton, Tanana, Koosman,Blue, and other renowed Lefties. The thing is, when you compare the era's, remember they pitched from a Ground level then, too, so hitters had that advantage as well.
I especially like the chatter this generated tho.I would also say that Maddux will Never be fully appreciated for all he achieved, just for being such a meekly looking Super Star.
And I hate him, too.

Just using stats

Avg. ERA (Pedro):
4.21
4.61
5.07
4.97

Avg. ERA (Koufax)
3.02
3.25
3.26
3.28

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

Have to go with Pedro. Lower mound, and better ERAs relative to the rest of the league at his peak.

It's hard to compare W-L records because so much goes into a W or a L.

The official scorer determines who won or lost the game, and they can be bias. Many times if possible, the official scorer will give the W to the starter when he doesn't really deserve it and the L to the reliever when he doesn't really deserve it.

Also, you could pitch 6 innings giving up 1 run,and lose the game 1-0 because your offense sucked.

I think if you throw out the W-L the 6 pitcher's i considered were very comparable.

Pedro was pretty dominant in his days with the Redsox . I voted for him.
