Cardinals recalled LHP Randy Keisler from Triple-A Memphis.

The 31-year-old Keisler will make his first start since 2005 against the Pirates on Tuesday night. His perforamnce will determine whether he stays in the rotation until Chris Carpenter's return.

Hopefully we can welcome Mr. Keisler back to the majors with a nice game from the offense.

Yeah, I've been slipping on keeping this stuff updated. Allow me to try to get back in the groove, so to speak.

3 at home with Houston starting tonight...

TUE, 7:05 PM EST: Woody Williams(HOU, 0-2, 6.55) v. Paul Maholm(Pit, 0-2, 6.19)
WED, 7:05 PM EST: Matt Albers(HOU, 0-0, 3.00) v. Zach Duke(PIT, 1-2, 9.00)
THU, 12:35 PM EST: Wandy Rodriguez(HOU, 0-2, 4.74) v. Tony Armas(PIT, 0-2, 18.90)
Hoping for 2 of three here, probably the first two with Duke and Maholm on the mound. I may even go out on Wednesday night to see Zach pitch if it's nice enough and I don't have work.

3 hitter last night for Mr. Maholm, a hellouva game and hopefully something we can see, like once every 2 months from him.

3 for 3 for Jason Bay with a couple doubles and a solo homer for Ronny Paulino. Big win last night.

Solid outing for Tony tonight going 6 and allowing 2 ER(both on solo homers) and 7 BR's.

Hopefully Grabow and the rest of the pen can hold it up.

*sigh*

4 for the Cubs of Bayliss and Grabow, and they lead 6-5...with a rain delay now in.

Ugh.

Good to see the team pull off a 15-inninger tonight. Props to Jack for 2 big sac flies, and Jonah Bayliss for eating 3 solid innings.

What a great performance by Gorzelanny last night, too bad we have no offense. This team is no different than the 14 versions before them. BTW LaRoche still sucks.

It's a little different, this young staff is giving us a reason for hope. And even if nothing comes out of it(it's unlikely it will, they'll be gone before AMc and Walker are up to carry the offense.), at least we can look back on solid young pitching.

Yeah, I think the reason BBull isn't up yet is injury concerns. They want to make sure he's 100% before he comes up.

It's a given at this point that he's replacing Armas, it's just a matter of when.

On the eve of the JVB season debut, Paul Maholm(!) shows signs of life against the worst offense in baseball.

Fluke, or future trend?

I'd like to see Maholm become more consistent, not sure it will happen though. Frankly I think he and Duke should go tot the minors to work on their stuff.
