Rotoworld: Bautista named starting 3B, Poll Included

Pirates manager Jim Tracy named Jose Bautista his starting third baseman on Friday. Freddy Sanchez will play second. Bautista wins the job despite a .244/.271/.311 line in 45 at-bats. Jose Castillo was at .286/.286/.343 in 35 at-bats. Bautista will show better power once the games begin to count, but he's probably not going to hit for average. Expect 15-20 homers if he gets 400-500 at-bats. Mar. 23 - 3:12 pm et

We'll see how long it lasts. I'm guessing we're one more scary takeout slide away from Bautista being back as a backup outfielder/backup third baseman. I love both of their bats though, and either one of them would probably outhit X, but that's not Tracy's plan.

Hopefully, this will work out for the best, because if Freddy gets a serious injury because of going back to second...*sigh*...

Castillo should play second and Freddy should play third.

We need Freddy healthy and if the Pirates can contend or at least spoil some team's hopes,many guys will be sliding hard/spikes up into him at 2B.
