NEW YORK -- Oakland, ...
NEW YORK -- Oakland, Texas and Philadelphia each had four players selected for next month's Futures game during the All-Star festivities at Yankee Stadium.
Major League Baseball announced the 25-man rosters for the USA Olympic trial and World teams on Thursday. Players from all full-season minor leagues were eligible for the squads.
The Athletics put pitchers Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill and infielder Cliff Pennington on the U.S. team and right-hander Henry Rodriguez on the World squad.
I'm a little surprised to see Pennington there, but not the pitchers.

I dunno, I wouldn't say that it was a bad deal just yet. Gallagher was lights out for us, and Murton has been pretty good thus far. I know first impressions aren't everything, but hey. So far, so good.

Yeah yeah, but he was facing the Giants at home (no offense to the Giants hitters, but there's nothing super spectacular there. then again the A's aren't very spectacular either, so I shouldn't be talking). I'd wait a few starts and see how it pans out before choosing who got the short end of the stick.

the US guys, maybe...it's the team for the trials. I guess if they don't make the Olympics, we won't see them. The A's site has a clip of H-Rod striking out the side up right now BTW.
and you weren't the one derailing the thread either.
