I know I'm late (again) but yesterday when I tried to post this thread the whole site crashed on me...so here I am a day later trying to post it agian. Hopefully it works.

5-28-08
Halladay vs Harden

This is again another marquee matchup. In his last start, Halladay pitched his league-leading 5th CG of the season, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out five and walking none. As for Harden, he looked more like his former self in his last start. He scattered two runs on four hits while striking out eight in six innings. Neither pitcher has had much success against eachother/eachother's team, so this should be a very interesting game.

5-29-08
Litsch vs Eveland

This matchup might not be as good of a matchup as tonite's game, but the pitchers are of good quality nonetheless. And they have a lot in common. In Litsch's last start, he pitched his first CG shutout of his career. In Eveland's last start, he pitched his first shutout of his career too, only he allowed one run throughout the sparkling nine innings. He (and Litsch) will be looking to top their previous starts, so look for a low-scoring game.

The Jays are still without their GG CF Vernon Wells, but they just got back SS David Eckstein before yesterday's game. Former Athletics Marco Scutaro had a nice ovation upon his return to the Coliseum, but now with Eckstien back he could see less and less playing time...on the A's side, Thomas apparently strained his left quad while legging out a double. He's scheduled to get an MRI today and is hoping that it is just a minor strain and nothing else. Oh, and happy belated birthday Thomas. The big 4-0 now. Congrats man!

Game two is an awesome match-up between Halladay and Harden. You should try to get to that game Brett.

Marco Scutaro will find more time in the RF/LF now with Eckstein back at SS

Mench and Wilkerson hasn't worked out (they suck, both hitting near .200) so Scutaro should find more time in their place, the surprise to me is Stewart hitting near .300 in May, and has been very good since Wells went down.

as for the pitching match up tonight
TOR: RHP Roy Halladay (5-5, 3.11 ERA)
In his career against the A's, Halladay is 4-4 with a 5.35 ERA in 11 games.

OAK: RHP Rich Harden (3-0, 2.93 ERA)
Harden is 0-3 with a 5.59 ERA in five career appearances against Toronto.
neither starter has a great career number against the other team and Halladay prone to be bad in Oakland

Well the Jays are leading 1-0...nope take that back. Tie game 1-1 on a two-out double by Crosby and an RBI single by Cust. Let's keep it going guys!

The A's have tied it at one. The A's scored on a Cust single scoring Bobby Crosby.

Halladay strike's out the side. This guy is shutting us down after allowing that one run. Hopefully we can get a few more against him, otherwise we don't stand a chance with the way he's pitching.

It's still 1-1...we're in the top of the ninth now. Both starting pitchers were phenomenal. Hopefully we can get some ninth inning magic and win this one.

A's lost 2 - 1...Foulke took loss. Harden was great, but the offense just couldn't get anything done.

eek Eveland was extremely shaky all throughout the four innings that he's pitched so far. I don't know howm much longer he'll stay in, if at all. But he has been able to keep the damage to a minimum. It's 4-0 Jays lead in the top of the fifth.

btw...Thomas was put on the 15-day DL with a strained quad.

also...welcome back Eric Chavez! Good to seem number 3 back in the lineup.

Eveland allows another 0-2 hit and Cust has more trouble playing the carem in left field. Our outfield could really use some help out there.

5-0 Jays in the top of the fifth. Eveland is still in there...UGH 6-0 now on another RBI single. And that's it for Eveland. Braden is coming in I think...

7-0 now. Litsch has a four-hit shutout going. This is not looking good.
