What do you think the A's should do as we near the non-waiver trading deadline? Do you think they should buy and try to get back in the race or do you think they should sell for the future? If you think they should buy, then who would you like to see them go after? If you think they should sell, who would you like to see go?

I feel that unless they make up some serious ground this week on their 7 game road trip against both the Angels and Mariners, that we should sell. And if we're going to sell I'd like to see Piazza, Kennedy, Calero, Stewart, Kotsay (doubtful), Loaiza (even more doubtful), Embree, and Kielty go. I'm on the fence about Dan Johnson as he won't be a FA for 4 years IIRC and he's cheap. We'd have to get something decent in a deal for him. The other guys I listed, however, they can all go... And if Beane could somehow get a Mulder type package for Blanton, then I'd say do it, but it doesn't seem likely. We're not in the same situation with Blanton as Mulder was, but we could probably get a very similar package (a major league ready guy and a couple specs maybe). There is a lot of crap on the market so I think someone might be willing to pay for Blanton.

Beane ought to try to sell all of the players whom you listed because none of them are worth Class A or B compensation draft picks if any of them are to be free agents.

Kielty was just DFA'd...so hopefully, he's going to be moved anyway.

I say sell as it will be a monumental task to get back in this. Who I'd like to see go:

Calero
Kennedy
Loaiza
Crosby (not going to happen)
Piazza (I guess but get something for him)

Sell Piazza, Loaiza, Crosby....the injuries are getting ridiculous

I'm real surprised Piazza wasn't moved. He seemed the most likely.
