According to rotoworld, Carl Pavano (elbow) could throw off a half-mound next week.Pavano is rehabbing after Tommy John surgery, and he's currently throwing from 60 feet on flat ground. He is hoping to be ready to return in July.
This is just a joke. Honestly, Carl Pavano should just give up on this season. He is unlikely to be able to stay healthy, let alone pitch well for a team who's playoffs may depend on him...
On Tuesday, New York RHP Carl Pavano threw 30 pitches in his first batting practice session since undergoing elbow surgery on June 5, 2007. In the final season of a $39.95 million, four-year contract, the oft-injured Pavano is 5-6 in 19 starts with the Yankees, including 1-0 with a 4.76 ERA in two starts last year.
He threw BP? That means he could be back just in time for the the September playoff push. Aren't you excited, Yankees fans? What's that?.....Hey, Don't shoot the messenger.
Wouldn't that be funny if he came back and pitched well down the stretch? The Yanks have given him free money for 4 years, maybe he can earn a few of those dollars? and maybe w/ a good Septmeber he can earn a big new contract?
