With Barry Bonds on the verge of becoming baseball's home run king, the spotlight soon will shift to New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, the player in best position to take the record from Bonds. "I'm not going to starting think about what my destination is," Rodriguez said Saturday after becoming the youngest player to hit his 500th home run, mere hours before Bonds tied Hank Aaron atop the all-time list with 755. Where would he be on the list if he didn't have three or four years of injuries?"

I know this is a couple days old but I just had to post this. I mean I've seen these numbers before but it is still shocking the pace A-rod is at. I honestly don't see how he can not break the record, its amazing.

USA Today sucks, I'm surprised there sports editors have a job.

Now on Arod, is he on a pace to break the record? Yes, but I think the media and fans over blowing this, because we said the same thing about Griffey and we know what happened to him, so as a Arod fan I just hope this whole attention doesn't jinx him.

I don't think anybody's crowning A-Rod anything.

The only thing that stopped Griffey from breaking the record before Barry even had a chance was injuries.

Can the same thing happen to A-Rod? Sure, but in the meantime he's on pace to shatter what is about to be Bonds' record.
