Yankees targeting D-Rays' roster? Posted: Wednesday June 20, 2007 09:49AM ET According to Gotham Baseball magazine's Web site, the Yankees are rumored to be interested in the Devil Rays' slugging 1B Carlos Pena and could make pitcher Sean Henn available, though not bay area product Tyler Clippard. If the Yankees can't get Pena they could pursue Ty Wigginton.

I love how we had Pena last year, saw fit to let him go and now have to actually give up players to get him back.

Pena didn't play for the Yankees last year. And I would LOVE a deal for him, especially if it's Henn!

yea, he had 380 at bats at columbus last year, and we let him go and boston picked him up. or maybe boston let him go, and then we picked him... not completely sure. still, he was with columbus for over 100 games, so we had him the majority of the year.

Fun note, two of the top four players in VORP for 1B in the AL aren't on the All-Star Game ballot, and one of the Top Four who is on the ballot isn't Top 5.

Sorry but the Rays could do better than Pena for Henn especially is his bat keeps up like it is. Rays don't have to trade since he makes pennies and is producing. Rays should hold out for someone better.
