Mets purchased the contract of outfielder Gerald Williams from Triple-A Norfolk.
Williams was batting only .230/.280/.417 for Triple-A Norfolk, but that's still better than what Ron Calloway has done and Eric Valent is 5-for-31 since being sent down. Mets fans should just hope he's never needed to make a start in the outfield.

Why don't you just FLUSH already. The season is over.

Dont come on the board talking shit about them, especially if your their rivals fans. Season's over?? We'll see about that. THey are struggling and Willie Randolph has been a disappointment, they arent out. 7 games back of team that hasnt proved themselves isnt bad.

Willie Randolph hasn't been a disappointment..Carlos Beltran has been the disappointment, along with Mikey P. They have exceeded my expectations, partly due to Pedro's outstanding pitching performances, and Braden Looper finally pitching the way he should. However, Beltran and Piazza's struggles aren't helping an offense that is already marred by the mere presence of Doug Mienkiewitz.

And jeez, don't get all upset at me about it. You know you have it bad when Gerald Williams plays outfield for you...which just might happen with Cameron suffering knee problems.

And speaking of the OF, where is Diaz? I remember him being a beast.
