For the record, my favorite would be Bobby Valentine, but he's clearly not interested in coming back from Japan.

I know he had plenty of fire when he held a sickle to his G.M. to trade Charles Johnson for Todd Hundley. Yeah, let's trade a back-to-back Gold Glove catcher for a catcher who couldn't throw out Mo Vaughn on a throw to second. Great idea!

Of course that trade was made 10 years ago...I don't think Davey is interested in managing anymore...

I guess not. Like most coaches who have "been there, done that", he was at the stage in his career when he wanted his share of power in the front office.

Larry Bowa!
Giants > Padres
Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.70 career ERA, but has won just 29 of his 95 starts.

Larry Bowa is not what I'm looking for. I don't want a nut. I simply want a guy who wants to win badly enough to yell at the shmucks like Delgado who don't hit. I know it's very specific, but I want to win, and I don't think Bowa is the answer. Then again, I'm not sure if there IS an answer...

If Larry Bowa can yell at Scott Rolen, surely he can yell at Carlos Delgado.

Very true. But will Delgado listen? I don't know. I just think Bowa is too crazy, and not enough intelligent anger. Does that make sense to anyone else?

No, not really. It's only intelligent when the team wins. Otherwise, it's just plain anger, which did jack shit for Bobby Knight after 1987.

True, but certain anger can inspire a team. Say...Girardi's ejection the other night. Bobby Valentine returning to the dugout after being ejected with the glasses/moustache. What I don't want is random chair throwing, or base chucking for no reason...

I'd stay far away from Bowa haha. For now I think Randolf is fine. I would stick with him unless someone comes out of the woodwork that is just a perfect fit. This team just is not as good as they were built up to be this year. Age is the main factor here, I don't think anyone thought Delgado would be this bad this year or that Pedro would yet to trow a pitch heading into June. With the old falling a part, a lot of the pressure has fallen on the youth, and they haven't been able to carry it for the most part. The bottom line is that this team is not terrible, just a few pieces shy and a few rusting pieces need to be thrown out. They could really bounce back the second half with some good moves, or next year. Either way Randolf should be given the chance to see it happen.

GET NOTICED.

Everyone expected Delgado to be this bad, because he sucked balls last year. Pedro through 40 or so pitches in the 2nd game of the season, his first start. Unfortunately, he got hurt early. Randolph should have till the end of the year, otherwise, I think even though its NOT his fault, it's time to move on.
