I'm impressed with Omar here. First off, I'd like to say that I loved Nelson Figueroa, but he was just not able to be as good as we'd like a 5 starter to be. He was a bit weak, and he had to go. Jorge Sosa just sucked. I'm sorry. He was awful. I'm impressed that Omar DFA"d him and ate the contract. Then, it's unfortunate that Pagan hurt his shoulder making that catch in LA, but he'll be back soon, and he'll be fine. I like the call up of Vargas, who will start on Wednesday. Hopefully he will be a decent starter for the time being. Tatis simply gives us a righty bat off the bench, which we need with Pagan and Castillo both unavailable, and Easley starting. Wise looked poor in his first outing or so, but has been out since the beginning of April. Hopefully he can sure up the bullpen a little bit. As a whole, I think they made the right move not sending down Joe Smith simply because he had options. I'd rather risk losing Sosa than have to watch him and his 7.06 ERA toe the rubber.
