Johan Santana goes 6 1/3 inning give up three homers in loss to Brewers. Just like last season, when Johan does not keep the ball low and away he get lit up by the home run ball.

Being a Twins fan things look just like they did last season. Johan is most effective when the ball is low and away or high and inside. Yesterday to no surprise the ball was left up and over the middle of the plate. So far this season in three starts Santana has given up four homers and has an era over three.

Seems like Johan is trying to do to much. He needs to go back to his old game and just throw the ball. Play catch out there. Maybe just maybe the pressure has gotten to him, or the big contract has messed him up.

I doubt it, because his first two starts were incredible. 14 innings, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, 5 hits. That is not "pressure getting to him". It was one bad start, everyone has them, and he'll be fine next time out. People just make too much out of this because of the contract, but I think everyone needs to chill and let him pitch, because he won't look like this consistently

I agree. Johan is as good as anyone out there right now. He has good outings and bad ones. Yesterday seemed like a "bad" one. He'll be fine.

Johan did the same thing last year in Minnesota remember Catman? All the homers he gave up with an era on the rise?

Thats why its last year. It's one start, and you can't decide how his season is going to go based on 1 start.

Let's not forget the Brewers have a good offense. Santana will be fine and he will give up homeruns.

Pathetic Stat of the Year- Matt Cain has a 3.74 career ERA, but has won just 30 of his 104 starts.

Santana is going to be just fine. The Mets offense and team are very good, and so is Santana. Sheets is pitching lights out right now, and it was a good matchup on Saturday.

Plus, it looks like the Brewers' bats are slowly but surely starting to wake up a bit.
