How did the umpires blow the call if the rule book states that a low line drive in the infield areas is not consistuted as an automatic infield fly rule. They were just going by what the rule book states. And like you said it was actaully a pretty smart play by Lugo recognizing this and playing it to get two outs during what could have been a rally for the Twins.

I have umpired quite a bit and the rules are not really clear as to what constitutes a pop-fly, but that ball was about 15 feet in the air. It could have been interpretted as a fly. The commissioner's office will issue a ruling on it soon, but nothing will be done to change the outcome of the game.
As I said, the Sox outplayed the Twins in this series and are to be congratulated on doing so. Maybe the 2 teams will meet again in October and settle this thing for now.
