From ESPN:
Source: Brewers' offer is 5 years, $100M

CC Sabathia | Brewers | Interested: Yankees? Brewers?
A source told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the Brewers' offer to Sabathia was five years, $100 million.
"It's something this franchise has never come close to offering before," said Melvin told the paper, although he didn't reveal details of the offer. "That's the best way for me to characterize it."
Meanwhile, the Yankees met with representatives of the free-agent lefthander at the GM meetings in Dana Point, Calif. Greg Genske, who heads the LS Legacy Sports Group, told Newsday Tuesday that the Yankees were one of many teams with which he and his fellow agents, Scott Parker and Brian Peters, met.
"He's open-minded," Peters told Newsday about Sabathia. "The Yankees are definitely one of the teams he'd consider."
Will this be enough to retain his services?

I hope Sabathia seriously considers this deal. The Brewers are on the verge of being contenders for a while and Sabathia likes it there. He gets to hit which is a plus. $20 million to play for a winner and getting to hit in a place you like should be enough but it all comes down to $$$$.

You nailed it. His agent will be the thorn in this deal...

Possibly, but Kyle Lohse wanted to stay in St. Louis, and he did. Even with Scott Boras as his agent, that didn't stop him. $20Mil is not a small offer, Sabathia would be crazy to turn it down and go to NY. He will be loved in Milwaukee. In NY, he will get lost in the crowd.

Free agent CC Sabathia has told friends he is expecting the Brewers to upgrade their five-year, $100 million offer in coming days, SI.com's Jon Heyman reports.
It's been speculated that the Brewers would go to $110 million over six years, though that hardly sounds better than the original offer to us. The Brewers' current offer already contains deferred money, so it's not actually worth $20 million per year. They're going to have to go higher in order to have a realistic chance of keeping him.
The Brewers are trying to get creative and Sabathia can see that. He wants to stay in the NL so the Brewers are going to have to figure out how to get more money. Maybe trade Cameron? Wouldn't that be great if they traded Cameron to the Yankees only to get Sabathia and the Yankees don't?

I'm still holding out hope that he stays...Cameron or Weeks could go as far as I'm concerned. Just leave JJ alone.........

SI.com's Jon Heyman believes the Brewers could go to six years and $120 million for CC Sabathia with an opt-out clause after two years.
The New York Post indicated that there could be an opt-out clause after three years. No one expects Sabathia to make a decision on his future this week, but perhaps we'll at least have a firm grasp on who the serious suitors are by the time the winter meetings wind down.
This could be very appealing to C.C.. Imagine if he keeps up the level of play over the next two years. He would get even more money if he opts out of this deal. The Brewers have a great young core of talent and and are going to be in contention if Sabathia stays so it could be a great deal for Sabathia.

Plus the Brewers are trading Mike Cameron for a 5th OFer. Not a good day at all. Only bright spot is that Cameron's frees up more money for them to get a starter with.
