Brewers Fire Ned Yost -
09-15-2008, 04:22 PM
Well folks, it's official: ESPN - Brewers fire Yost, promote 3B coach Sveum as interim manager - MLB
To be honest, wtf are they thinking with this timing? I guess either a) he had it coming for a while, or b) they're REALLY trying to send a message to the players in this slump.
I'm not really into many of the Brewers' happenings, but why?? I mean, they're in the middle of a playoff hunt!! This makes no sense to me. Maybe some other people can explain to me why they did this now and why it's good for the team to do now. If teams fired their manager every time they get swept in somewhat of a big spot, managers would be fired every other week. Makes no sense to me.

This reeks of desperation but it just might work. The timing seems ridiculous but we will have to wait and see if it is effective or not. Brewers fans have been complaining about Yost for a while now so with them tied for the WC with Philly, Brewers had to make a bold move. Let's see if this young team can handle it. At least he wasn;t fired after a win at 3am.

I had no idea that Lou Lamoriello became the G.M. of the Brewers.

2 months earlier would make some sense, but since they've put it off this long it's dumb to pull the trigger now IMHO.
Who knows, maybe Dale Sveum proves me wrong, (I always got a kick out of his name as a kid, I had a few of his baseball cards), I just think ****ing with continuity when you're in a playoff race in September is dumb.

Me too but oh well. Obviously they know something we don't. Even if we do make the playoffs the odds of keeping CC and Sheets are very slim so I don't know.
